          The diary is found

In January 1945, towards the end of WWII, the Soviet army

arrives at Auschwitz in order to liberate it.

There, near the crematoriums, Dr. Zinayda Berzovskaya finds

          Rivka Lifshitz’s diary.

She puts the diary in an envelope and adds a piece of a Russian

article, which mentions the liberation of Auschwitz, and writes:

“This is where I found this”.

The diary will remain this way, sealed in an envelope for

decades. Only in 2009, thanks to that newspaper piece, the

envelope with the diary inside will arrive at the Holocaust

          center in San-Francisco
